website traffic but no leads

Why Your Website Gets Visitors but No Enquiries

Traffic is up, enquiries are not. Usually the page fails at the moment of decision. Here are the parts every service page needs to turn visitors into enquiries.

Short answer: if visitors come but do not contact you, the page is failing at the moment of decision. Each service page needs a clear first line, prices or a price range, real proof, answers to common worries, and an easy, obvious way to get in touch. Also check that your traffic comes from people who can actually buy.

"We get 3,000 visitors a month but hardly any enquiries." We hear this often. The traffic is real, but the page does not give visitors enough reason, or enough ease, to take the next step.

Is the traffic from the right people?

Check Search Console. If most visits come from searches like "what is" or "free download", you are attracting readers, not buyers. Shift effort to service, area and price searches before changing the page.

Does the first screen say what you do?

The visitor should understand in five seconds: what you offer, who it is for, and where. "Commercial cleaning for offices in Colombo, daily or weekly" is clear. "Excellence in every detail" is not.

Do you show prices?

Even "from LKR 25,000" or a simple package table helps. People who cannot see any price often assume the worst and leave.

Is there proof?

  • Reviews with names and the service used.
  • Photos of real work, team and premises.
  • Short case studies with before and after.
  • Logos of clients, if you have permission to show them.

Do you answer their worries?

Think of the reasons people hesitate: cost, time, quality, trust, hassle. Answer each one on the page: how long it takes, what is included, what happens if something goes wrong, and how payment works. An FAQ section is a good place for these.

Is contacting you effortless?

Call and WhatsApp buttons at the top and bottom, a short form, and a promise about response time. On mobile, keep a button visible as people scroll.

How do you find which part is failing?

Look at a few visitor recordings or heatmaps if you have them, ask five customers what almost stopped them buying, and read your page on a phone as if you were a stranger. The weak spot usually becomes obvious.

What should you fix first?

The first screen and the contact buttons. Then add prices and proof. These four changes alone often lift enquiries noticeably.
