Where we are
Colombo
A studio, not a borrowed room
Our own space with professional lighting and current equipment, plus location shoots anywhere in Sri Lanka.
GrowthChord is a digital marketing agency and photo studio in Colombo, Sri Lanka. We help businesses get found on Google, in Google Maps and in AI answers from ChatGPT and Gemini, then shoot the photos and reels that make people choose them. Search, website and marketing work is for clients worldwide; photography is in Sri Lanka.
GrowthChord is led by a Google- and IBM-certified digital marketing and growth specialist and a commercial photographer with more than 15 years behind the camera. Our in-house team of search, content, web, photo and video specialists plans every campaign and shoots every frame in our own Colombo studio, so each photo is briefed against the search or AI question it has to win.

How we work
One brief, one invoice
Strategy, writing, search and production on the same team. You are not translating between three suppliers.
What we count
Messages, calls and forms
Rankings and reach are means to an end. We report on the conversations the work produced.
Six things we hold to, on every engagement.
Every engagement starts with an audit of what you have now. We would rather find out in week one that you need something smaller than we proposed.
Nobody can promise a position in Google or a mention in an AI answer. We will tell you what is likely, what is a bet, and which it is.
One monthly note: what we did, what moved, what did not, and what is next. Not forty pages of charts nobody reads.
When a campaign needs photos on Thursday, we shoot them on Thursday. No waiting on a freelancer with a different brief.
If a channel is not earning its keep, we say so, even when it is work we are being paid for.
The pages, the copy, the edited photos and the finished reels are yours once they are paid for. So are the accounts.
We do our best work with businesses that look something like this.

GrowthChord is led by two founders who set the strategy and the creative direction. Our in-house team of search, content, web, photo and video specialists does the work, so your plan is run by a team, not a pool of freelancers.

Co-founder · Commercial Photographer
A Colombo fashion and commercial photographer of more than fifteen years, who leads the creative direction of the photo and video work our team produces.
Arantha has worked as a photographer in Sri Lanka for over fifteen years. He is self-taught, and started shooting professionally while he was still working in software — which is a useful thing to have in common with the people who build the pages his photographs end up on.
His background is fashion and editorial. He was the exclusive photographer for Miss Sri Lanka at Miss World in 2011 and 2012, and official photographer for Miss Tourism Sri Lanka International in 2016. He has shot for Sri Lankan fashion brands including Odel, Gflock and Kelly Felder, and at pageants in India, Egypt and Bali.
At GrowthChord he leads creative direction for the studio: brand photography, product and location work, and the short-form reels that feed social and ads. Our in-house photo and video team plans and shoots each job to that direction, with the brief written alongside the search plan, so the shot list comes from the pages and profiles the images have to fill.

Co-founder · Digital Marketing & Growth Hacking Specialist
A Google- and IBM-certified digital marketing and growth specialist (AI-driven SEO, SEM and GEO, paid media and analytics) who leads GrowthChord’s search and growth strategy.
Kanchana leads strategy on the search side: technical SEO and site structure, local search and Google Business Profile, and the generative engine optimisation work that decides whether a business gets named when a customer asks an AI instead of searching. Our in-house search, content and web specialists deliver the work.
He also sets how the work is measured — which searches bring enquiries, which pages convert them, and which engines are naming whom — so the monthly report our team sends says what changed and what it did for enquiries.
Kanchana is a co-founder of GrowthChord and answers for the commercial side of search: which searches a Sri Lankan business can realistically win, what an enquiry is worth to that business, and what has to be measured so the owner can see the return.
His full career history, the roles he has held and the businesses he has worked with, is kept on his LinkedIn profile. We link to it instead of retelling it here, so what you read is always his own, current account.
Search has changed more in the last few years than in the ten before. People still use Google, but they also ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and Google itself now answers many questions before it lists a single site. Kanchana works across both: classic SEO and local search on one side, and the work that gets a business named in AI answers on the other.
In practice that means site structure and speed, structured data so machines can read who you are and what you sell, clean crawl rules for search and AI bots, Google Business Profile, and consistent facts about your business across the web. It also means reading the numbers properly: Search Console, analytics, call and enquiry tracking, and checking which AI engines name which businesses.
He keeps the tooling plain on purpose. A tool is only useful if the owner can read what it says, so the monthly report names what changed, what it did for enquiries, and what happens next.
